It was a duel to the death
Thrusts clashes lunges
Harsh rhythmn
Metal meeting metal
A backward jump onto a step
Pursued then held
Against a pillar
Steel through flesh
He lay on the cold stone ground
His sword beside him
Tassel bloodied
Scrunched and matted
They prised his hand from his chest
Forced his fist
Blessed tokens
From his beloved
Lovingly picked pressed and dried
African violet and
Shamrock green
Failed lucky charms

ReplyDeleteThank you everyone.
ReplyDeleteI have come to the point where I don't like to miss a Magpie and last week was just too much. No immediate inspiration and little time.
The reality is that I don't much care for my contribution this week. So it's heartening to see, from the comments that you think differently - thank you friends.
Now I'm going to be cheeky - how would it be if your said :-
