But Do You Know Me?

 MAGPIE 70

Photograph Courtesy of Tess Kinkaid, Magpie Tales

I am a wife
A lover
Friend
But do you know me?

I am a mother
A protector
Guardian
But do you know me?

I am a friend
A companion
Listener
But do you know me?

I am a teacher
A mentor
Guide
But do you know me?

I am a servant
A worker
Humble
But do you know me?

I am a fighter
A survivor
Scarred
But do you know me?

I am a wall
A block
Barricade
But do you know me?

I am laughter
A delight
Beguiling
But do you know me?

I am gold
An ingot
Precious
But do you know me?

I am a soul
A strength
Immortal
But do you know me?

  3. Thank you mindlovemisery. I remember when I very first posted it on 360 I almost took it down but was encouraged by the comments.

Helen thank you. I took the photo from my now daughter-in-law's parent's veranda on Christmas Day 2006. Or one Christmas Day! It was dusk and the daily BWIA (now defunct and known as Caribbean Airlines) aircraft was coming in from London.
