Yes
She's gone
So
That is why
I gave you
Her boot
To chew
But you didn't
And
And
That is why
I
Etched on the wall
My hope that
She'll
Be back
Meanwhile
The plant has died
Simply....beautiful. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice allusion to her absence ...the plant has died ~
ReplyDeleteI very much like this one.
ReplyDeletePity he attempted to comfort the dog and himself, but not the plant. I wonder what she'll say if she returns! Well done.
ReplyDeletewowee-you naiked this image completely!
ReplyDeleteI meant to type "nailed" whoops
ReplyDeleteSmiles…you incorporated it all….and def open up to a bigger story of what happened…but she is gone…and now he is talking to this dog…smiles.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the succinct replay of events you have described here, Bee. The sequencing is woven together in a perfect fit. Thank you for sharing this. Well done! =D
ReplyDeleteNicely played! I love the dead plant reference. Tight write.
ReplyDeletePerfect for the prompt (BTW I love your new cover photo - that was an amazing finale!)
ReplyDeleteI like this. It covers everything! :)
ReplyDeleteAt least he's comforting the dog. The dead plant is well featured here and fits well in the flow! Great write Bee!
ReplyDeleteHank
So very complex. Meaning on so many levels. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThere's more than one story in your Magpie post. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI love stories.
ReplyDeleteThe despair and desolation..expressed so well..that plant..
ReplyDeletelove that he is talking to the dog.....and that you brought all the elements into your piece..x
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteAn excellent from me too.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Bee, you captured the essence of his art beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much friends for coming by, reading and commenting. Your encouragement is heart warming.
ReplyDeleteI've been so remiss and inconsistent with my visiting these past several weeks. I just saw your foul weather pictures in an earlier post, and enjoyed to other Magpie interpretations. This one I especilly like. It just conversationally tells it the way it is. The dog clearly understans the great loss. Someday his human will want that boot again. The plant - well, nothing is perfect in life.
ReplyDeleteIt;s nice to see you here Annie. Thank you. I'm glad you liked the Olympics opening ceremony. I did too and I thought the mills rising was simply great. Essentially very British and somewhat quirky with plenty of humour. We British know how to laugh at ourselves!
DeleteP.S. Love the Olympics header. I really enjoyed the opening. I know it was criticized but history buff that I am, I enjoyed the transistions from one era to another and the music was terrific.
ReplyDeleteMaybe there is even hope for the plant! Dogs know things.
