I know this is 'showing' on various pages here but I wanted to put it up not just because she's only ten and has an amazing voice which will only get better as she ages but because she's singing one of my favourite Puccini arias, .

Wooton Basset in Wiltshire, England is the town known for the informal public mourning held as hearses carrying the bodies of soldiers killed in Afghanistan pass through the town from RAF Lyneham.

This amazing video made me cry. Coming from a military family I have heard the Last Post played so many times and each time... I do, I am reminded of all the parades I have attended and the sheer pride I felt at each and every one of them.

God bless our military and also those of other countries who continue to put their lives on the line.

A Better Place

My husband's son's funeral takes place this morning. Fly with the angels Nicky to a better place.

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. (Isaiah 43:1)

The Angels Came

On Sunday morning last
Very early
The Lord said
It was time for you
To come home

So He sent his angels
To escort you
From this place
To be with Him
In a better one

Mourning in shock and disbelief
Too young all say
But you alone knew
That it was time
And flew with angels

In memory of my husband's son Nicholas who died last Sunday.

Our House - My Daughter and I

The problem that arises when you have your daughter working for you, albeit on a temporary gig, is that she sees exactly what goes on and as a result says things like 'for goodness sake stop stressing', This morning I was told in no uncertain terms that I need a break and she and a colleague spent half an hour trying to convince me that I should take the next five days off. They failed...... I think they're ganging up on me!

Our House - Of Toy Boys and Cougars!

Husband leaving through front door yesterday morning, mumbling something.

Me:                "What was that?"
Husband:        "Nothing"
Me:                "You said something"
Husband:        "No I didn't"
Me:                "Yes you did. What did you say?"
Husband:        "I didn't say anything"
Me:                "I heard you!"
Husband:        "I was talking to myself"  

                      Leaves to move car

Me:                "I do hate it when he does that. Think I'll find
                      myself a toy boy!"
                    

Daughter:     "You'll probably find this gross but I know plenty of
                     people who would be very happy to have you as a
                     cougar!"

Me:               "Don't be silly".
Daughter:     "Yup!"
Me:               "I don't think so"
Daughter:     "Yes they would!"
Me:               "Gross!"

How was that for a start to the day???
