The good news is that my scales are 15lbs lighter!!
It's probably unlikely that I lost that amount in the almost 6 days of whatever it was because I actually began to watch my weight a few weeks ago - although I hadn't noticed any dramatic loss. However my husband insists that it is a result of the last few days adding that he can tell as the spare tyre has gone. It won't come to using the services of this man
because he was absolutely amazing in that he looked after me so well! Boy he's lucky but he better not push it! After almost 29 years you'd think he'd have learned what's on and what's off limits. Mid riffs and butts are definitely off limits!
So am being positive as it's back to work on Monday (imagine being ill for a great deal of one's holiday) but I will take the remainder of of my entitlement before the year is out. My days of saying 'it's okay' are over!!
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and be blessed.
It's my ex sister in law's birthday today. She won't read this but Happy Birthday Elizabeth Harris, popular novelist whose first book was 'The Herb Gatherers'.
Glad you are on the mend. And do not be upset if the majority of that weight loss is soon back. I have found that over half can just be water. Sad but true.
ReplyDeleteI know and that's what's bothering me!
DeleteI don't know whether to laugh or say you poor thing. LOL. Decided on both.
ReplyDeleteOne way of losing weight I guess, was it something you ate and got a bit of food poisoning? or, Just a nasty bug?
I am off to bed now, much later than my usual too. Hope you have a better week, it is Sunday night here. Catch up with you soon.
You can laugh - now! It wasn't funny at the time! A bug - I'm not the only one apparently. I knew it wasn't anything I ate.
DeleteSorry to hear you've been ill, but I sympathise with the weight loss dilemma. I've gone back to good old calorie counting and increased my exercise. Result- lost six pounds. Lots of support from husband but others are saying, don't go and lose too much - as if!
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted about the weight but as Jacqui says a great deal of that can be liquid although I did my best to keep hydrated. I can tell on my waist and arms the latter of which now definitely need toning so as soon as I'm a hundred % walking will be in order. I also have a busy week at work coming up with little time to catch my breath. A lot of people tell you not to lose too much - I get that all the time and the reality is that at my age you cannot afford to be too thin because you end up looking haggard. But I'd rather they didn't say it!!!
DeleteGood luck with your efforts! Nigella Lawson lost her with doughnuts and bread!! It's all in moderation really. The problem is that I am choosy about what I do eat and that makes my body think it's not going to get fed so it sends a message to the metabolism telling it to slow down! Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar is a great kick start and maintains weight loss.
Also having a giggle here, you have a way with making fun of the serious, darling. Was wondering where you were, now see you were ill.
ReplyDeletePoor thing, can identify with that one, in June 1 week in isolation ICU with some bug, lost (still haven't found them) 5 kg over that one.
Pray you will feel better quick quick and can I suggest a different diet plan for you, not that you need it, silly !! Mwah !!
My goodness you must have had some terrible bug to have lost 15 pounds with such misery....glad you are on the mend . Nothing feels quite as good as regaining health after such an illness. Even the reappearance of a healthy appetite is welcome once things get back to normal.!
ReplyDeleteI dropped by after reading a comment of yours on Jane's blog. :) I am so sorry you've been so ill and hope very much you are well again now! I must say though, I did enjoy this post and smiled while reading at your sense of humor.:)
