Our House - Sunday Lunch

Lunch today was French (actually it came from New Zealand!) roast leg of lamb which I cooked with rosemary and garlic.

Three quarters of the way through cooking my husband took the lamb out of the oven (he's helpful like that!!) so that I could put the potatoes around it, to roast.

As I was doing this, I saw my husband pricking (more like stabbing) the meat with a very sharp pointed knife.

Me in horror:           What do you think you're doing to my lamb?
Husband calmly:      This lets it breathe
Me:                         Breathe? It's DEAD!!!!!

  1. Ha ha ha, very funny. Men love poking meat around, don't they. Reminds me of the meat thermometer my father in law used to use all the time. I swear to God he preferred doing that than eating it. Is that really your house??

  2. Breathe? I swear, men can be so suffocating. They want you to do the cooking because you are so good at it and then they come in like some CEO and tweak your performance.

  4. Kathe, it turned out, (according to "he-who-must-be-obeyed" (that's a joke!) beautifully. I said it must have had something to do with the stabbing much to my daughter's amusement!

Jacqui - R is a Scorpio - what does that tell tell you??

    Tess yo may well laugh......!!

Star I don't use a meat thermometer any more! This is the picture I use in my 'Our House' series - I hope the real owner never finds out!
