Hi Bee, mmm sent me in your direction and I'm glad he did.

I enjoyed the light-hearted tone you brought to this point without belittling the seriousness of the topic. It isn't surprising to me that Holy Father finally took action. It IS surprising to me that Rowan Williams professed surprised. As a church leader, he should have seen this coming. Benedict is no lightweight.

I think that Holy Father also took notice of the Florida incident and the Episcopal bishop's lack of good faith where Fr. Cutie was concerned. He spoke out of one side of his mouth and then went on to accept Cutie with open arms and fast tracked him in the the clergy and marriage.

In the big picture, it is not such a big thing, but often it is the little things that inspire big changes.Annie Jeffrieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15415548089882625246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4890866550699482561.post-83442341123071635212009-11-03T19:37:24.786-04:002009-11-03T19:37:24.786-04:00Well, you know as much as people berate christina ...Well, you know as much as people berate christina religion, I have to say I shudder at the though of secualrism running amok--it's excesses far outweighs any horrors doen in th echurch's name. Let see, in the name of "No God, no religion" we have Soviet Russia's purges of 60 million killed in less than 15 years under Lenin and Stalin! Then there is the slaughter of Pot's and killing fields of Cambodia; Nazism's hatred of the church and Jews; the slaughter of millions under Mao, and now we have North Korea, one of the darkest, most forsaken countries on the planet where death camps and forced labour continue for all those with such fanciful notions of faith.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17712046924863763290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4890866550699482561.post-41888315957135217872009-11-03T19:28:26.535-04:002009-11-03T19:28:26.535-04:00Personally, Bee, i think it;s a brilliant move adn...Personally, Bee, i think it;s a brilliant move adn one well needed.

"“The Anglican Church is a Church, sure, but it's also an established National Church - it might be good to have someone at the top who liked the country, its people, its history and its culture”."
--England is definitely no longer a Christian county (if it really ever was in actually spirit) but the precepts of such were what much of our culture was founded on. We can't deny that. One simply can;t take Christianity out of the hsitory ofn England in particular and really gain a clear grasp on it's culture, people, history, etc.

Anway, I had known about former Anglican Priests being adopted in to the RCC, even if married with kids and that made sense. I quite agree that if it's good for them, why shut out many good Catholic potential priests who can't bare the thought of remaining single their whole life, although I do understand why the RCC did that in the first place.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17712046924863763290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4890866550699482561.post-46569319968707348602009-11-02T15:42:21.499-04:002009-11-02T15:42:21.499-04:00PS: Belief and faith ought to be attraction and no...PS: Belief and faith ought to be attraction and not promotion. No, I misspoke, what I LOATHE about religion.

Was it Bertrand Russell that said religion was the great stumbling block of society? Well, it is worse in my humble opinion: Religion is the great stumbling block of spiritual connection and belief.JBinford-Bellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14293248281473648182noreply@blogger.com
